Is it safe to spray my plants with compost tea made from cow manure?

  • OrganicTexas says:

Per Bruce Deuley: Yes as far as the plant goes but I would be careful with using compost tea made with uncomposted manure of any kind if it is a plant I am going to eat in the next 60 days just to be safe.

Thanks so much, I discussed this with my husband who does all the work lol he’s really excited about all this, thanks for all the informative videos :)

  • KARStarla says:

can I make this with mushroom compost that I purchasedd from walmart? I never hear mushroom compost talked about, do you know?

  • OrganicTexas says:

I’m would say yes. Bruce & other brewers have talked about using different types of compost & recipes. I would avoid walmart nursery items, but if that’s all you got, then go with it. There might be some special considerations, so email Bruce through his website (located in the video info) and ask. Or you can call him during his show, which is Sat, 5 to 7 PM CST on KTSA. It streams live from the KTSA website and they have a toll-free number. Hope this helps & happy brewing! -OT

Fungi like a little protein. You can add a couple tablespoons of fish emulsion to the mix for them.
