I mulched in spruce needles , sawdust , and a little cement which I powdered with a hammer completely mixed evenly in a five gallon pail of soil and lastly about a cubic foot of mossy soil and potting soil around the root and packed on top .(2nd year plant about a foot tall ) .I hope it works
