My poor little parrot chicken keeps laying eggs even though it seems to be an awful lot of hard work. She squawked out a big one tonight.

@mugumya When you have bacon and eggs for breakfast, who helped and who ENSURED you have a good breakfast? The pig or the chicken?

How Can I Improve My Soil After Tree Poison Has Been Used?

My father "thinks" he used tree poison to remove some trees. He also said he might have used something to get rid of white ants. We've noticed that the plants around the areas where the trees used to be either die, or struggle when their root system gets established. Getting it tested would cost too much for what it's worth, so we're unsure how to go about fixing the problem.
i'm more concerned about improving the quality of my soil rather than growing veggies - what should i do?
Also, it's been suggested we bring in some more soil and grow our veggies on a raised bed - is this the best solution?

Till in a load of lime. It will neutralize the soil Ph. While you are at it Mix in a load of manure from the horse or dairy farm down the road. This should enrich the soil enough for new plants to take root.

I think that you should dig about 4 inches of earth out from where the poison was placed and put in some new topsoil and a little bot of fertiliser.

I would not grow veges, but I would lay on a good compost pile on your problem!!! And I would wait a year or two or more before you grow anything you want to eat there! Sorry, I wished I could be more help, but you have to let the chemicals go away before you grow something!!!!
